Our club offers plenty of opportunities for Nippers of all ages to build skills, make friends, and enjoy the beach through fun activities, training sessions, and special events. This is the pinnacle of surf sports competitions for U11-U14, and a stepping stone to qualifying for Aussies for U13 and up. The best nippers in Queensland compete through heats and finals over 4 days of beach and ocean events, including both individual and teams. To qualify for States and represent Coolum against all other clubs across Queensland is an amazing achievement.
Events: Nominate for all events you are interested in and we will compare the results from Branch to see if you qualify.

The QLD Beach Series attracts competitors from all over Queensland as well as our neighboring states, providing an opportunity to unite and showcase one of Queensland’s most iconic volunteer movements, Surf Life Saving. The Beach Series is all things Beach - Sprints, Flags, Beach Relays
Below are the dates and venues for the 2025/26 QLD Beach Series.
Round 1: Saturday 22nd November 2025 – Noosa Heads SLSC
Round 2: Saturday 20th December 2025 - Kurrawa SLSC
Round 3: Saturday 10th January 2026 - Burleigh Heads Mowbray Park SLSC
These series are open to U11s – U15s. Note: U10s are permitted in team events only.

This is a competitive carnival, during which both beach and ocean events will take place. Teams will compete through heats and finals. Teams for this event will be picked by coaches out of those who nominate.
Location - Dicky Beach SLSC
Events - Cameron relay (4 people), board relay (3 people), surf teams (4 people) and surf rescue (2 people)

Youth Branch is for nippers U11-U15 who are competitive in their chosen events. This carnival is a stepping stone to qualifying for State Youth Championships. More information coming soon!

While still non-competitive, U8-U10 Branch Champs is a reflection of what nippers will experience when they reach U11s. The competitors will experience and learn about proper carnival rules, particularly U10s, in preparation for competitive carnivals. More information coming soon!

This carnival is aimed at giving U8 - U10's a go at team beach and ocean events. Nippers will get to participate in sprint relays, wade relays and board relays. The focus on this carnival is to build team spirit and allow everyone to have a go in a fun and relaxed environment.
